Candle Care Guide

Your Lax & Lux Candle will burn for the associated burn-time, but here are a few care instructions that will ensure you maximize your candle life:

  • Store your candle in a cool, dry place. Ideally your candle should be stored away from direct light, artificial and natural, to ensure color does not fade.
  • The size of your room matters in regards to the strength of the scent throw. A larger room will require a larger candle for a strong scent throw. Our candles produce a great scent throw within the first 20 - 30 minutes of burning. To ensure a great scent throw, allow your candle to burn until the wax is completely melted to the edges of the jar. This will also ensure an even, clean burn each time. Be sure to burn your candle in a well ventilated area.
  • Your candle will arrive with a pre-trimmed wick. Be sure to always trim your wick to 1/4 inch before each use. This will ensure a clean, steady burn each time with minimal to no soot and wick mushrooming. Be sure to clear the candle surface of any wick trimmings before your next burn.
  • Only burn your candle on a level surface free of drafts and flammable objects that may catch fire.
  • Never leave a lit candle unattended around children or pets.
  • Do not burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time. Burning your candle longer than the recommended 4 hours poses a fire hazard and will increase the chances of soot and wick mushrooming.
  • Never use the lid to extinguish the flame. The lid is plastic and will burn, which is a fire hazard. Allow the candle to completely cool before replacing lid.
  • Always place lid on candle after it is completely cooled. This will prevent any dust or debris from collecting on the candle's surface and causing a fire hazard. This will also ensure a great scent throw with each burn and extend the life of your candle.
  • Discontinue burning candle when 1/2 inch of wax remains or you can see the base of the wick. Burning the candle beyond this point is a fire hazard.
  • Please be sure to recycle and reuse your candle jar and lid!
